Today the morning was normal but the rest of the day was horrible to anyone who was in the spelling bee. We had to prepare the entire gym for the spelling bee b ourselves; we had put chairs here and there, also we had to prepare the stage. Etc.

I was kind of mad about this I mean we were supposed to be the contestants not the people who did everything plus the contestants. Well life isn’t fair, but you have to work with it. i improved volcabulary.

The spelling bee went really smoothly, more smooth that any brand new Ferrari. Everyone was eliminated one by one well it went like this: 1 person in the first round, 2 people in second and 3 people in the third. Etc. it went on until I was left, there wasn’t much excitement and it only lasted half an hour.
I forgot to mention last time that the spelling bee was post ponged to next Wednesday so we will have more time to study because only half of the people that were entering were not ready.

That means that I have extra time to improve vocabulary . Well tomorrow is the big day the one and only, well maybe not the only, spelling bee. I studied for the spelling bee like I would have for any other test except that there were more words to study and I had to improve vocabulary on each and every one of them.

Well I better get some sleep tomorrows the big day and I don’t want to sleep in.

Hello I’m 10 years old and I’m writing this because I am thankful for this site you see a couple days ago there was this spelling bee and the school told us to prepare and well you know what I’ll just tell the story so you understand.

I was waiting for school to end like everyone else and two minutes before the school ended for the day my teacher told the entire class that there was going to be a spelling be in two months and the prize for the winner was 100$ in bills. But there was a tiny problem anyone in the school can come and on the spelling bee all of the words are going to be 8 letters to 12 long. All most everyone was signing up, teachers gave long lists with each word that might be on the spelling bee to every person that signed up.

I had problem studying the first 3 days so I looked up online for anything that might help you know I typed stuff like, improve vocabulary, study words, and stuff like that until I found the website fridgewords.org and it had every word on the list which I added to the word basket and a feature where I could do my own spelling bees and practice. So for the rest of the two months I studied as much as I could.

Then on the day the spelling bee started on this day but it will end several days later since there are a lot of people trying their luck. On the first round a lot of people were out since they forgot to study or something. On the next a few others and it went on like this for the next three days. I was left and some 10th grader the pressure was on the judges picked the final word. The 10th grader was asked to spell the word, he asked for the definition, and then in a sentence the judges did all that, and he spelled it incorrectly.

But to be eliminated I had to spell the word correctly and I spelled the word correctly. The 10th grader got off the stage and went away in shame of being beat by a 5th grader. I got presented with the 100$ bill by the judges.

So this is the reason I want to thank you for this site and the hope of other people having as much luck with it as I had.

A friend of mine asked me advice if he should use Fridgewords.org or tutoring to improve vocabulary be cause he had no experience and there fore no knowledge of which to choose.

I told him from personal experience that using a tutor to study will cost $20 per hour of tutoring. And you’ll have to pay extra on electricity bills for unnecessary lights working as the tutor tutors you. Plus the tutor is going to need extra paper and pencils to tutor you. This means you need to spend money and its bad for the environment.

For Fridgewords.org you have to you have unlimited tests and exercises. The tests tell you immediately if you got a mistake but they don’t let you fix the mistake. You also use electricity but not as much when you are tutored.

When you get tutored you have to buy books to study and then mark pages on the books where the words that you need to study are. Plus a tutor doesn’t come over every day to tutor you.

But for Fridgewords.org you can practice whenever you want, as long as you want, where ever you want. There’s a feature called the word basket where you can add all the words you need without losing them the next time you use them.

Here are the following reasons why my friend should use Fridgewords.org and not be tutored. Plus it’s good for the environment.

Hi, I’m a news reporter for a school in Colorado. Until a few months a go I was just a wannabe person that wanted to be a school newspaper writer. But I had to have a creative mind and a good vocabulary to be at least the editor. There was going to be auditions next year, I knew I could win the audition but I had to improve vocabulary.
So as summer started I looked online for help and I found this website and I was curious and I tried the Type-in(guess the word) and as I practiced I saw that I spelled I few words that I usually spelled wrong spelled write. get-it. Write. Right. Oh never mind, any way I practiced for three whole months until a couple weeks ago the auditions were there to be a school newspaper writer and the audition test was to get a great story and put it in text and show it to the people who took care of the school newspaper and if your text was the best you would be the new schools newspaper righter. Get it. Writer. Righter. Never mind.
I won the auditions by a long shot. Any way this is why I wanted to thank the creators of this website and hopes that it would help other people as it had for me.

Ok, you see there was this big test coming in one month and I had to study. My parents promised to by me ‘World of Warcraft: the Burning Crusade’ if I got a +A on the test. But the problem is that I had trouble studying. No matter what, I always got a big fat F. So I decided that I could look on the internet for new ways of studying. And then I found an easy to use site called FridgeWords.org, it has exercises to help you study. Alright maybe there are a few exercises but they’re really affective.

First I added the words I needed to study to the word basket. Then I clicked on ‘my word basket’ and all of the words that I selected were there. Then I wanted to review, so I clicked on flash cards and I reviewed until I was ready to try my luck, I did the Exercises: type in (guess the word) thing and the multiple choice test. I scored pretty badly but I continued to study the words I needed for the test and I did this every time I had the chance until the day of the test.

One the day of the test, my hands were sweaty and I was shaking and I couldn’t wait to get it over with. There were the thirty words we were supposed to study on the test were on the test. We had to wait until next week to get our grades back every day seemed like a whole month. Then finally on the day we got our test results back was here I was shaking I was afraid that I would get a bad grade and never get a second chance,( I know I’m exaggerating here but that’s how I felt). My teacher was handing out our test results to everyone some got bad grades others got good, it seemed like an hour passed by and the teacher put the piece of paper on my desk and the I got… an +A my mom and dad kept their promise and got me the game and ever since I used fridgewords.org to learn English words for word tests.

Hi, I'm a kid from Montana and I want to tell you that I used this site I found on the internet to help me learn English words better.

You see a month ago in my school we were going to have a spelling bee and my class was told about this the month before that so we could prepare. Its was a class spelling bee meaning that every one in the classroom must participate we where give a long list of words that might or that will be on the test we were given four weeks to study for the spelling bee. Oh and did I mention that the prize was you could be the teachers assistant and boss anyone around that you want for a week.

And I was sick and tired of rewriting words and having writers cramp just to learn words. For the first two days I looked online for help so I looked online for help because no one else had a better idea. So I found a couple websites for learning English words but I wanted immediate results I kept testing every website I came about until I found Fridgewords.org and it gave me immediate results so I kept using it to study for weeks until the day of the test came.

Almost every body was talking about the prize. Who will boss who? What will you do? Who will you give special treatment? And stuff like that. Before the test started we got the chance to review as many words as we could in five minutes. And after that the spelling bee started, we were supposed to line up our desks in three rows ten desks per row and we did the spelling be alphabetized so we started with the people who started with the letter ‘a’ in their last name and so on about six people were eliminated in the first round, five in the next, seven in the third round, and ten in the fourth. Then it was me and some other kid the last word came and the kid got it… wrong.

But he didn’t lose yet, to be eliminated I had to spell the word right but if I got it wrong he would get a second chance and it will go on like this until one of us gets it right. And I got the word wrong and then we each started to get a turn for a chance to discover the right word. Some kids started cheering for me hoping that if I win they will get special treatment and some for the other kid also for the same reason. It went like this for a long time until I realized that the word wasn’t in the list they gave us. And if I said something like that my classmates might think that I was chickening out and that I wanted an easier word so I could win. So by every turn me and the kid puzzled out the word one letter at a time. And finally FINALY I figured the word out and I got my prize. Starting next week on Monday I was the teacher’s assistant for that entire week.

So that’s my story why I wanted to thank that site. Oh and one last thing the first thing I told every one to do was to check out that site for studying the next time there was a spelling be so I would have a bit more competition.
